Family Nurse Partnership - FNP
A program for young Mums aged 19 or under and less than 26 weeks pregnant with their first baby. If you take part in this program you have your own family nurse who will visit you at home and work alongside you from referral until when your baby is two years old. Reading Lifeline Pregnancy Crisis Centre
The Centre provides free pregnancy testing, crisis pregnancy counselling and post-abortion counselling. The Centre is located at 110 London Street in Reading, a 2 minute walk from the Oracle shopping centre. St Laurence's drop-in sessions for teen parents
A drop-in session for young parents up to the age of 19 is running at St Laurence's Church in Reading on Mondays from 2pm-4pm. The sessions are free, and include toys, books and craft activities for the children, refreshments and of course, the chance to meet other young parents. The Young Parent Health Visitor is there for health advice and to have your child weighed. There will be occasional speakers, and professionals such as Connexions, BWA, Source will also be available at some sessions to give advice. Click for more information. Young Mums To Be Training Programme;
YMTB-Parents-to-be programme is a comprehensive, holistic course specifically designed for pregnant teenagers up to and including the age of 19 years. Young women are keen to attend YMTB as it provides accessible antenatal care. A specifically tailored session enables young-dads-to-be to be included and prepared to help and support at the birth. The course is running every Tuesday from 9.30am-2.30pm at The Hamilton Centre, 135 Bulmershe Road, Reading RG1 5SG.
